The UAE’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) on Monday announced the launch of “Sharikna” app on the UAE official government web portal, Government.ae during a press conference held at Gitex Technology Week 2014.
The ‘Sharkna’ application is a social networking channel similar to Twitter, the TRA said in its media statement.
It allows users to follow specific topics and receive the latest updates on issues of their interest. The TRA said that the launch was part of developing the official UAE Government portal in order to provide better interaction and engagement levels with users in the country.
