Facebook a dominant platform for government and politics

The social media giant continues to maintain a competitive advantage over other competing social channels. Focusing its efforts as a legitimate business and go to news source it has reshaped how users intercept content online. In a new report published Tuesday by the Pew Research Journalism Project (PEJ) it was revealed that Facebook has become a top source for political news.

When it comes to finding, sharing, talking or commenting on content shared on the world’s largest social network it leads the social networking sphere. According to the data collected by the PEJ nearly 48 percent of panelists or web users accessed news related to politics. In addition, it was just one percent less than Local TV (49 percent) for those getting news for the same topic.
