Search “Rindge Dam” on YouTube and you can take your pick of videos set to rock music that show teenagers walking along the narrow concrete edges of the steep dam, drinking beer and leaping from the dizzying height into the green water below.


“People put up YouTube videos and share the location, which many didn’t know before,” said State Parks spokesman Craig Sap. “There’s this one-upmanship that happens with kids taking risky jumps and filming themselves.”
