It’s 2014, not 1984. But George Orwell would surely update his book if he saw the leaders of China and Russia taking center stage with President Obama in Beijing this week. And if he then saw how the news was transmitted: from person to person, country to country in nanoseconds via Twitter, Facebook and other social media, even in Russia and China.
