Monroe County Schools is putting an Employee Internet Postings and Social Media Policy in place.
Tim Blankenship, director of schools, said the school system put the policy in place because they wanted to take a “proactive approach” to prevent issues from happening before they have a chance to arise.
The policy says employees’ public postings should remain professional and appropriate for minor students’ viewing since most Internet postings are available to the general public. The same level of scrutiny will not be applied to an employees’ private Internet postings.
