On Twitter, 2016 Rivals Let the Jabs Fly

With much of New Jersey snowbound in a storm last month, followers of Gov. Chris Christie on Twitter received an invitation to chat: “It’s 9 p.m. New Jersey. What’s everyone doing at home tonight?”

Answers poured in, and the responses flowed as if Mr. Christie, a potential contender for the GOP presidential nomination, were texting good friends.

To the person building a 3,500-piece Lego Batmobile, the governor, or someone replying on his behalf, tweeted a request for a picture. To the woman who wrote she was “pretending to listen to her husband,” the response was both personal and jovial: “I’ve been a victim of that trick.”
