The dirty secret of social media is that almost everyone will miss almost everything you do on social media, said Sree Sreenivasan, a digital innovator who will headline a workshop Tuesday at Point Park University on the latest trends in mobile, video and apps.

That doesn’t mean Facebook and Twitter are a waste of time. These sites can bring attention to an idea faster and better than any other platform, he said.

“Social media is misunderstood,” said Sreenivasan, the chief digital officer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
