Social networking site Twitter has announced that it would open its ‘marketing office’ in Hong Kong in the first quarter of 2015 despite a ban from China.
The social media giant has been banned from operating in China since 2009 over fears of the site being used to organize protests against the government.
According to the BBC, Twitter authorities said that they want to expand in greater China and tap into the next phase of its growth.
