The pair became involved in a Twitter spat last night, three days after Brand appeared on US television’s ‘Late Show with David Letterman.

Billionaire Trump told his 2.7million followers on the social network: “I watched Russell Brand @rustyrockets on the @jimmyfallon show the other night — what the hell do people see in Russell—a major loser!”

However, Brand retaliated to the swipe by suggesting the 68-year-old real estate magnate is not the tycoon he claims to be, by posting a link to an article mentioning his multi-million dollar inheritance and financial aid from the US government.
